Position
Parfums Christian Dior Japon is looking for a Retail Architect in Tokyo.
The mission of Retail Architect is to create our counters/corners/boutiques which represent DIOR spirit, creativity, and expertise through co-working with Project Manager from the initial sales briefing through to the completion of construction. The architect's responsibilities include establishing the good relationships with concerning parties locally. It also includes helping Project Manager with development of design proposals, preparation of drawings, specifications, budgets, construction documents. You should be able to do on-site supervise, quality control at production factory. You should support to deliver the beautiful counter with the highest quality that fits to DIOR specification standard and guidelines controlled by the headquarters in Paris.

Working Relationships : Retail Design & Merchandising Director, International Architect team, All member of Retail Design & Merchandising Department, All Sales team members, Purchasing team, Counter Managers / staff
External Relations : Department stores, Landlord, Boutiques, External designers, Suppliers / vendors, Construction companies, Overseas manufacturers
Responsibilities
- Support Project Manager throughout the completion process.
- Understand a project from technical, regulatory aspects through to the needs from BCs and sales team.
- Reporting on progress and challenges to the Project Manager.
- Adjusting designs and plans to meet the client's needs.
- Preparing drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Complying with safety standards and local planning regulations.
- Understanding Building Standard Law of Japan including Fire Regulation.
- Support with launching bidding for every project through the Purchasing division who is responsible for awarding the project to the supplier.
- Determining and adhering to budgets and timelines.
- Order the materials, furniture with the overseas manufactures.
Profile
Requirements
- Degree in architecture or a related field, or related work experience.
- 5 years previous experience as an architect or similar professional.
- Excellent technical drawing skills.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Able to respect DIOR guideline and sensitive to build a relationship of trust with Paris.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards.
- Strong creative and visualization skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Optimistic, calm, perceptive problem-solver.
- Exceptional analytical and time-management skills.
- A lot of travels around Japan including overnight travel.
- Early/night work before/after store’s business hours to supervise the execution works done by suppliers.
- Quality check at production factory.
- Japanese – native, English – enough for technical exchanges with Paris by email, on-line, off-line.
PC Skills
- Specialized in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and other software programs.
- 3D preferable.
